“Stool Pigeon” – Vic Godard & the Subway Sect

I have a lot of work to do. I’ve been out of town for two weeks and work has piled up. But I don’t teach tomorrow, and there’s this song I can’t get out of my head and it’s by Vic Godard and so I needed to figure out the tab. Which I’ll share with you. Those Vic Godard fans out there who find this blog by searching for tabs can correct at will. Also, feel free to use these chords as a beginning to tabbing out the little guitar riffs during the verses. I don’t have quite the time for that.

But I got you the intro and interlude ones. That’s worth something?

Again, lyrics assuredly misheard:

VERSE:
Black and white lies appear the same to me.
Chant of voices on a wind so free.

Now rummage among the debris.
Me and my shadow in our eats, like a

  1. Here are the lyrics to Stool Pigeon, cheers,Vic

I play the right track when the needle is pleading
Need a new suit to set me in motion
I told everyone all of my life
Always betray her when she’s not my wife
And all around town I see
    A new indecision
    People are fireworks
    None is annoyed at me
I talk when the rockets fly
With or without a reason to cry

    Chorus
Like a stool pigeon, stool pigeon
Won’t you take tea with me
Knock me around all over the place then leave

Black and White lies appear the same to me
Gentle voices on a wind so free
If things are tough we can still picnic
I know a spot in the decaying trees

  2. (This song is magnificent.)

I play the right track when the needle is pleading
Neeed a new suit to set me in motion
I’ve told everyone all my life
Always betray her when she’s not my wife, and
All around the town is a new indecision–
People are fireworks; no one is annoyed at me
I talk when the rockets fly,
With or without a reason to cry, like a

    Stool pigeon
    Stool pigeon
Won’t you take tea with me,
Knock me around all over the place,
    And then leave?

Black and white lies appear the same to me–
Gentle voices on a wind so free.
Things are tough; we can still picnic–
I know a spot in the decaying trees.
I remember money wrapped in dishonesty
Feeling part of a page in a book
Now, I rummage among the debris
Me and my shadow, ill at ease, like a

    Stool pigeon
    Stool pigeon
Won’t you take tea with me,
Knock me around all over the place,
    And then leave?

I one found a place near the sea
With roses, no one bothering me, and a view
Sat expecting what was coming to me
But nothing arrives from anyone–least of all, you

I remember money wrapped in dishonesty
Feeling part of a page in a book
Now, I rummage among the debris
Me and my shadow, ill at ease, like a

    Stool pigeon
    Stool pigeon
Won’t you take tea with me,
Knock me around all over the place,
    And then leave?

    Stool pigeon
    Stool pigeon
Won’t you take tea with me,
Knock me around all over the place,
    And then leave?
