Dave Madden is the author of If You Need Me I’ll Be Over There and The Authentic Animal: Inside the Odd and Obsessive World of Taxidermy. His shorter work has appeared in Harper’s Prairie Schooner, The Rumpus, DIAGRAM, Rappahannock Review, The Normal School, Denver Quarterly, and elsewhere, and he’s the recipient of the Sherwood Anderson Award in fiction, an AWP Intro Journals Award in nonfiction, a Bernard De Voto Fellowship in nonfiction from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, and a Walter E. Dakin fellowship in fiction from the Sewanee Writers’ Conference. In 2017, he was awarded a fellowship to the MacDowell Colony. He teaches in the MFA program at the University of San Francisco.
